In 2013/2014 academic year at the University of Silesia in Katowice candidates with Polish language competence have a chance to take up tuition-free studies. This program is designed for candidates from non-EU countries. Candidates need to have competence in the Polish language sufficient to take up studies taught in Polish. There are 207 tuition-free places at Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes. Admission will be based on a secondary school certificate (for Bachelor’s programs) or diploma competition (for Master’s programs).

On 8th of May 2013 an extraordinary outdoor exhibition has been opened opening on the Bankowa street in Katowice. The event is organized by the Polish Polar Consortium.
The program consists of, i.a.: martial arts demonstrations, chinese music concert, poetry recitation, Chinese calligraphy and cut-outs presentation. Spring meeting of Silesian Universities Network took place yesterday, April 22nd, at University of Economics in Katowice. Activities planned for next months were discussed in details during the meeting.
Silesian Universities Network is a joint initiative of all nine public universities in Upper Silesia region.
600 representatives of local governments, science, business and culture, from both Poland and China took part in the 1st Regional Forum Poland-China in Gdańsk.
The meeting was organized under the auspices of president Bronisław Komorowski and took place on 22nd of April.
