School of Chinese Law and Culture

Starting from October 2016 University of Silesia in Katowice opens the School of Chinese Law and Culture at the Faculty of Law and Administration. The opening of the School is a result of strong and long-lasting ccollaboration between the University of Silesia in Katowice and two Chinese universities – Beijing Foreign Studies University and the Northeastern University in Shenyang.

The aim of the school is to popularize the knowledge of the bases of Chinese law, its theory and practical applications, Chinese culture and etiquette, mostly in the context of supporting businesses in their investment projects and commercial exchange between China and Poland.

The classes will be delivered both by Chinese teachers and Polish experts and will take place every month on weekends. The languages of lectures will be Polish and English.

The topics of the school will cover among others:  

  • Chinese culture and language,
  • Chinese law in business,
  • How to build contacts and links with Chinese entrepreneurs,
  • Work and criminal law in China,
  • Negotiation with Chinese businessmen,
  • Business etiquette in China.

 

The School is open to everyone who is interested in Chinese traditions, especially to those who want to gain first-hand knowledge on Chinese business, law and – ultimately – culture.
