The 3rd Silesian Science Festival KATOWICE [1], which has taken place from 10th to 12th January 2019, has ended last week and proven to be a huge success.
The 3 days of the Festival were jam-packed with science brought to the audience in all sorts of forms: lectures, workshops, author’s meetings and scientific shows, bringing together over 35 000 visitors who came in person to the Silesian Theater and to the International Congress Centre in Katowice (and other thousands of those who decided to watch the online transmission of the event). All of them had the unique opportunity to gain the first-hand experience of how fascinating and fun science can be.
During the main part of the Festival in the International Congress Centre, there were over 500 organized groups that participated in the enterprise (gathering an astonishing number 14 000 students in total).
The 3rd Silesian Science Festival KATOWICE has brought together 6 Silesian universities that worked on the Festival, over 1400 exhibitors and over 200 speakers, making it one of the biggest and most important scientific events in Poland.
What else did the Festival offer to its audience? 200 stands, over 100 lectures, 13 exhibitions and over 140 workshops. On top of this, the participants of the Festival could vote for the best garage invention presented at the Off-Science zone of the 3rd SSF KATOWICE. Of 11 submissions, the audience reacted most enthusiastically to the thought-scanning application [2] by Tadeusz Sułkowski, Kamil Cyrana, Adam Siedlaczek and Tomasz Pucek.
