Pedagogy (in Cieszyn)
The Pedagogy programme provides students with pedagogical knowledge, supplemented with elements of philosophy, psychology, and sociology, and helps to develop the ability to think pedagogically, analyse educational reality, independently formulate, classify and solve pedagogical problems and educational situations, and gives theoretical grounds for further self education and professional development. The undergraduate programme offers the following specialisations: Integrated Early School Education and Pre-School Education, Integrated Early School Education and Pedagogical Therapy, Protective-Educational Pedagogy, Pedagogical Therapy and Aide for the Disabled, Socio-Cultural Animation with Culture Tourism, Philosophical-social Education, and Ecological Education with Environmental Ethics.
Career opportunities
Bachelor’s degree graduates obtain basic professional skills related to the chosen specialization that prepare them for work in educational institutions (after completing the specialization for teachers), educational care facilities, specialist counselling facilities, health care, social prophylaxis and judicial institutions.
Graduates are provided with thorough interdisciplinary theoretical foundations orientated towards a particular pedagogical specialization. They are prepared to undertake various education-related activities and to work in educational institutions, educational care facilities, cultural animation and social welfare, kindergartens, schools, specialist counselling facilities, companies, state and local government administration, health care, social prophylaxis institutions and judicial institutions. They are also prepared to plan individual pedagogical practice and hold managerial positions in educational institutions.
