IROs Forum Meeting in Katowice

IROs Forum (International Relations Offices Forum) is a network of the international offices of leading Polish state universities. On 16th March 2018 over 40 experts from 14 member institutions met at the University of Silesia in Katowice to discuss the admission procedures for international students at higher education institutuions. During the seven-hour session, international relations experts shared their experiences in revising study regulations and improving student mobility and joint diploma programmes. It also brought the opportunity to discuss upcoming legal changes in Polish higher education.

The meeting in Katowice was opened by Prof. Andrzej Kowalczyk, the Rector of the University of Silesia, and was divided into two discussion panels moderated by Joanna Laskowska, head of the International Students Admissions Office of the University of Silesia.

Being a major driving force in internationalization among Polish universities, IROs Forum develops new forms of academic cooperation and improves already existing ones through sharing information and good practices, organizing conferences and workshops, and developing joint projects.

IROs Forum is currently led by the University of Lodz for the second cadence. The Council Chair is held for the second time by Liliana Lato, head of the International Relations Office of the University of Lodz. In 2016 cadence IROs Forum was presided by Agata Wójcik, Head if the Department of International Relations of the University of Silesia.
