From 1st to 28th August 2017 the 27th summer school of Polish language, literature and culture will take place in Cieszyn. The event is organized by the School of Polish Language and Culture of the University of Silesia. The aim of the summer school is to improve the Polish language skills of the students in accordance to their individual needs and interests. Thanks to numerous classes and activities the participants of the summer school will have an opportunity to verify and improve their knowledge of language through practice. This year’s adition will host about 200 foreigners from over 30 countries all over the world.
The participants of the summer school will have the chance to get to know Polish traditions and culture, visit various regions of Poland, establish friendships and spend time in the unforgettable international environment. Moreover, a number of meetings, cultural and artistic events, such as concerts, poetry meetings, theatre spectacles and translation contests, were prepared especially for the students of the summer school. The students will also have their chance to participate in the interesting and unconventional presentations of Polish science and culture. Such presentations will be prepared the specialists such as lecturers, researchers, artists, politicians or journalists.
One of the highlights of the summer school will be traditionally the International Polish Dictation, which will take place on 15th August. Student with the best result from the dictation will be announced the Foreign Master of Polish Language and will be granted free participation in the next edition of the summer school. Also on 15th August another traditional event will take place in Cieszyn – the Evening of Nations.
